Handwoven holga harvest basket features the art of traditional Indian basket weaving in a well-loved design with sturdy handles wrapped in vibrant, recycled sari textile. Master artisans in Bangladesh harvest holga plants and dry the leaves into strips which are skillfully hand braided and woven into beautiful, durable pieces. Hogla leaves are one of the most sustainable materials that nature has provided. Sustainable, eco friendly design honors the spirit of resourcefulness found within our artisan communities.

Basket Weaving

Hogla leaves and Jute plants are some of the most sustainable materials that nature can provides us with. These plants are sustainably harvested and dried to convert into strips or fibers. These are then hand-braided and weaved into beautiful functional baskets by master artisans in Bangladesh.

Basket Weaving Artisans

Bangladesh has suffered genocide, floods, cyclones and tornados, and the dense population is extremely impoverished. As a response to these events, a non-profit was formed to provide art training, health camps, and social and economic development programs to empower artisans. Our artisans are part of this group.
